Our Elephant is designed at a flexible hook to address the daily challenges faced by crutch users with mobility issues. The Elephant is a new type of hook that ensures crutches and walking sticks remain stable, reducing the likelihood of them falling over.

Enhanced mobility

This means you can move more freely and without worry. Overall, our flexible hook increases your mobility and keeps your crutches close when you need to use them or put them down.

We understand how important it is for you to have your crutches nearby, exactly where you need them.

Free your hands

We also know that sometimes you need to have your hands free for other tasks, such as at a sink, in the kitchen, at a worktable, or when you need to reach into your pocket or bag. In such situations, it’s nice to be able to quickly and easily set down or hang up your crutch.

Similarly, it’s convenient to hang your crutches on a round table or the back of a chair when dining out or visiting friends.

In & out of the car

If you drive yourself, you now have the option to hang the crutch over the car door when getting in and out.

In other words, with the Flexible Hook, you can easily hang your crutches or cane on table edges, chair backs, bed rails, or other surfaces—even on a table in the train or ferry.

The possibilities increase significantly when you have mounted our flexible hook on your cane or crutches.

We have, of course, put a lot of thought into the design, tested, and tried it out, and the result is certainly not accidental.

Picking up a crutch

If you use two crutches, you can use our flexible hooks (a set) to pick up one crutch with the other when they fall or if you drop them.

Similarly, the single cane is easy to handle by holding the hook with a finger in the same hand that holds the crutch you are leaning on.

Engineered

– with new technology

The Elephant is made from fine plastic polymers, meticulously layered and fused at a precisely controlled temperature.

This allows us to create a very durable and flexible pattern that gives our flexible hook unique properties.

We use an advanced material that, at the molecular level, is composed of a unique balance between flexibility and strength. So, what appears simple to the user is, in reality, carefully calibrated and adapted. Furthermore, all products are manually inspected.

High Quality

The flexible hook, the Elephant, is resistant to many oils and chemicals, UV light, saltwater, and chlorinated water. It has been functionally tested in the Nordic winter with biting frost, as well as in the strong sun and heat of the tropics.

Easy Installation

Installation is also made very simple and only requires a regular pair of scissors. See installation instructions at the bottom of the page.

Hello world

Why Call It “The Elephant”?

Twenty years ago, when I wasn’t thinking about canes and crutches, I was on vacation in Asia with my family. There, we saw a mahout preparing to ride an elephant.

As he sat on the elephant’s back, he dropped his cane.

The elephant immediately noticed the dropped cane and used its trunk to pick it up and hand it back to the mahout.

With that little story in mind, it was only natural that our trunk-like functional design was named “The Elephant.”

Our “Elephants” are, like real elephant trunks, robust, strong, flexible, and agile. Just as the elephant is unique, so too is our patent-pending product.

Universal Fit

The Elephant can be mounted on all thicknesses of canes and crutches, as long as the thickness of the mounting point is between Ø: 17mm - 30mm.

It is recommended to mount the Elephant facing backward and as high up on the cane or crutch as possible, with a minimum of 1.5 times the cane’s diameter from the plastic base of the handle. For example, if the cane has a diameter of 24 mm, the Elephant should be placed 36 mm (4 cm) away.

Can be mounted both ways

Can be rotated as needed, even after installation.

Our flexible hook comes standard with red/green markings.

Installation

Installation is simple.

  • Requires scissors to trim the ends.
  • If you purchase a set, the hooks come with a red and green button, indicating the right and left crutch, respectively.
  •  The button can be easily popped out if you want to switch the crutch side. There is no need to dismantle the entire hook.

Our flexible hook can be easily mounted without the use of special tools. Therefore, you, a family member, or a caregiver can assist you.

A small pin is removed, and then the straps are tightened securely around the crutch below the handle. Remember to insert the pin from the front so that the small tab locks the pin.

Mount the flexible hook 5-10 cm below the handle. Test how the crutch hangs on a table or the surfaces you use daily. You may need to move the hook slightly up or down before it sits optimally on your crutch or cane. Likewise, it should be positioned so that the shaft of one crutch can fit between the other shaft and the hook. See the image.

Make sure the hook is tight before inserting the pin and locking the straps in place.

We recommend ensuring that the straps are tightened well and that the pin is mounted with the small nub facing upward in the correct direction.

Once everything is checked, you can trim the ends if they are too long. After installation, it will be possible to rotate or adjust the hook for more optimal placement.

Installation Guide

Go Or Stay - Elefant

Step 2

Tighten both straps evenly by first placing the strap loosely and then pulling it 1 or 2 holes tighter.

Step 1

Place the Elephant as shown and wrap the straps around the crutch/cane shaft so the holes align with the lock.

Step 3

Ensure the locking pin is inserted with the small nub facing upward.

Step 5

Double-check that your Elephant is as tight as you want it- If it can rotate and slide up and down, it’s positioned correctly. However, it should not be too loose. If it is too loose, repeat from step 2.

Step 4

When the pin is mounted as shown in the illustration, it is correctly positioned.

Step 6

When your hook is in the correct position, trim the excess ends. Cut through the hole in the strap as shown by the dotted line.

The Elephant is now mounted on your cane or crutch.

Innovative design meets new technology

Our advanced material is engineered at the molecular level with a unique balance between flexibility and strength.

We fuse long elastic polymer chains, ensuring high elasticity and durability in our product.

The microphase separation between hard and soft segments allows our “Elephant” to withstand repeated stresses without deformation.   The Patent Is Pemding 2024/2025
